What Can You Lay Hold On?

Because Abraham did not hold back his only son from God, God made a vow to richly bless him and give him as many descendants as there are stars in the sky...

Because Solomon loved the Lord and was always making sacrifices to God on the Altar, He kept on offering hundreds of burnt offerings to God that one night after he offered the burnt offering as usual God appeared to him in a dream and asked "What would you like me to give you? (1 Kings 3:3-5). in 1 Kings 6-11-13, "And the Word of the Lord came to Solomon saying, - Concerning this house which you are building, if you walk in my statutes, and execute my judgements, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform My Word with you, which I spoke to David, your father, - And I will dwell among the children of Israel and will not forsake My people Israel"

Because Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to worship and bow down to the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar set up, God turned the fiery furnace to air conditioned room for their sake, and sent an Angel to stay with them at the fiery furnace that was heated seven times hotter than usual (Daniel 3) and in Daniel 3:27, "All the princes, governors, lieutenant-governors, and other officials of the king gathered to look at the three men, who had not been harmed by fire. Their hair was not singed, their clothes were not burnt, and there was no smell of smoke on them".
Because Daniel refused to ask the King for everything, refusing to turn back on God for 30 days (Daniel 6), God sent His Angel to shut the mouth of the lions so that they would not hurt him, (Daniel 6:22)
Because David served the Lord (Psalm 89:20), the Lord chose him as King over all his brothers, (1 Samuel 16:4-13)

God said in Malachi 3:6a, " For I am the Lord, I change not". In Luke 17:11-19, speaking of the ten lepers that Jesus healed by telling them to "Go, show yourselves to the Priests". Because one leper returned glorifying God with a loud voice, Jesus said to him in verse 19, "Arise, go your way: your faith has made you whole"

Now, this will stoke you, in Isaiah 38, God told Isaiah, the Prophet to tell Hezekiah who was sick to death, that He should set his house in order for he shall die and not live and what did Hezekiah do?
when Isaiah left, Hezekiah turned his face towards the wall and prayed to the Lord, reminding God of how he walked before the Lord in truth and with a perfect heart, reminding God of how he has done that which is good in God's sight, and what happened? God sent Prophet Isaiah back to Hezekiah to tell him that He has added 15 years more to him, and with other blessings God attached to it.

now I ask, when you appear in prayer what can you lay hold on for God to grant you your heart desires?? How have you served God? How have you shown God that you love Him? God said in 1 Corinthians 2:9, "But it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of men, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him"
It is important to note that before we ask God for so many things that we want Him to do for us, we should first of all, ask ourselves what we have done for God, we must try to win God's favor. Acts 7:46 speaking about David, it says, "Who found favor before God and desired to find a tabernacle for God of Jacob".

It is paying attention to the demands of God's promise that yields the fulfillment of God's promise to come to pass in our lives. we must always remember that God is no respecter of persons, (Acts 10:34) Acts 10:35 Peter said, "But in every nation he that fears Him and works righteousness, is accepted with Him"

I will conclude with this verse of the word of God, Matthew 6:33, "But seek you first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you". From the beginning of Matthew 6, we find out that Jesus listed needs of man but then concluded by saying 'God knows that we need all of these things, but He wants us to seek Him first'. God wants you and I to serve Him first, He wants us to show Him that we love Him, He wants us to work for Him first then He will give us everything even more than we ask Him.

Ephesians 3:20, says "Now to Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think according to the power that works in us"
what power is at work in you?? I ask again What can you lay hold on for that disturbing heart desire that you want God to grant, just like Hezekiah did??  if you can't think of any, then you need to get to work for God before approaching the prayer Altar, the faster and quicker you respond to serving God, the faster your miracle comes. Remember in Isaiah 41:21 God said  "Produce your cause, says the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, says the King of Jacob"
What are your strong reasons??? Hezekiah had strong reasons and the rule of death over him was cancelled and fifteen more years was added to him, you what are yours??
In Genesis 30:33, Jacob said, "Let my righteousness speak for me", what will speak for you?

first things first, if you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior, then your service before God cannot be acceptable unto Him (Romans 12:1), if you are not saved, you are not safe, if you are not sure, then you are not saved. if you would like to give your life to Christ, say this prayer and mean it,
"Lord Jesus, I come to You today, I accept that I am a sinner and I confess my sins and repent from them. I believe that You died on the cross of Calvary for my sins. Thank You for forgiving me. today I am saved, I am born again. thank You Jesus". if you said this prayer congratulations, you are now a child of God, so let go of the past evil ways, for the Bible says if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away, behold, all things are become new (2 Cor 5:17). Be Blessed.
